"I might
not be a religious man myself but I know good music when I hear it, and this is very
good! . . . I dont think that I have ever given such high
ratings to so many songs before. But
the fact is that they are well deserved because the
music is amazing. Simply wonderful religious ballads and they
really get to your heart. . .everytime."
Fredrik Cole: Trax In Space
Im thinking of times when I had my way,
But Im never ready for changes.
You told me thats why, I must look in Your eyes,
You keep me from leaving the love that Youve shown me.
When everything seemed to be alright,
Thats when I lost my affection for you, O thats why,
Lord, you changed my life,
You keep me from leaving the love that Youve shown me.
Im all by myself, left here to wonder where the days have gone,
Im all by myself again, and Im getting older, just thinking it over.
I feel its wrong though I know its right,
But there are times I cant take it, You told me thats why,
I need You beside me,
You keep me from leaving the love that Youve shown me.
Im all by myself, left here to wonder where the days have gone,
Im all by myself again, and Im getting older, just thinking it over.
I will look to tomorrow, cause yesterday is gone,
I dont care where Ive come from, only what Ill become in your eyes.
Now I know Im alright, cause with You beside me Ill never be lonely,
You love me. . .
Lord, Im not by myself, no need to wonder where the days have gone,
Im not by myself anymore, and Im getting over, just thinking it over.
Im not by myself,
Im not by my self,
Dont need to worry bout whats been going on,
Its getting better the closer I come to You,
Its getting better just knowin youll bring me through,
O Lord, Im not by myself,
Im not by myself,
Im not by myself.
Its getting better the closer I come to you,
Its getting better just knowing Youll bring me through,
O Lord, I Love You
Im not by myself.

Many times life appears to leave us abandoned. Yet those who have Christ never need to be forlorn, for He is always with us. This upbeat tune features full vocals with a hammering country piano over an stirring beat to encourage all of us that we are never alone when we have Jesus.
Song Story
I wrote this song during a very lonely time of my life. I felt deserted and alone and I called out to God just like the King David when he cried, "How long, O Lord, will you forget me." (Psalm 13) It was during this time when I realized just how close God is to me every moment of every day. Indeed, I am never by myself. Things may not go exactly the way that I want or plan, but that does not mean that God is silent. He is constantly working His will in my life, standing right beside me all the time to bring about what is best for me.
When I first composed this song I had intended it to have a pop-rock flavor to it. Yet when I was preparing the instrumental tracks for Selahs CD "Stop and Think About It", I was just not happy with the instrumental portion of it at all. The track was nothing but rhythm and lacked an identity. That is when I threw in a country piano lead and changed the whole flavor of the song.
Selah sings some very dynamic vocals in this piece that includes a sweet duet between Mitch and Vanessa. We pray that, in your lonely hours that this song will encourage and uplift you with the energetic beat and elevating harmonies.
