"I might
not be a religious man myself but I know good music when I hear it, and this is very
good! . . . I dont think that I have ever given such high
ratings to so many songs before. But
the fact is that they are well deserved because the
music is amazing. Simply wonderful religious ballads and they
really get to your heart. . .everytime."

Jesus loves me this I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
Jesus loves me He who died,
Heavens gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let this little child come in.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
Jesus loves me He will stay,
Close beside me all the way;
Thou has bled and died for me,
I will hence-forth live for Thee.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

. . .anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a
little child will never enter it. Vanessa
brings the simplicity of the gospel to life with a tender rendition of this classic
childrens song. Luscious harmonies tell
of Vanessas deep craving for her Savior who loves his children with everlasting
faithfulness. They will grab you in a way
that only this song can.
Jesus said: I tell you the truth, anyone who will not
receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. (Matt 10:15)
The famous theologian, Karl Barth, was once asked what he
thought was the most profound truth of the Christian faith.
Thoughtfully he responded, Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me
so.
Anna Warner wrote the words to this song as a poem that was to
go into one of her sisters (Susan) best selling novels. In the story, this was to be a poem of comfort
spoken to a dying child. No doubt it has
become the most beloved childrens song in Christian history!
I do not know if I have ever heard a song with such deep
spiritual insight as what is proclaimed in this simple song. I literally brings me to tears every time I hear
it or perform it. What profound insight is
always proclaimed when the singer (whether child or adult) sings of the fathomless depths
of the love of God! What an awesome statement
is made when the authority of the Scriptures are maintained as the voice cries out with
passion and resolve!
The most impressive rendition of this song that I ever heard
occurred decades ago. This was in the early
80s when I was music pastor for Calvary Chapel Bakersfield. During those years we held monthly evangelical
concerts at the Civic Auditorium where literally hundreds of kids came to know the Lord
nightly. One of these concerts featured the
Benny Hester Band. Kelly Willard opened the
show and her performance was always simple; just Kelley and the piano. During her set she spontaneously broke into
Jesus Loves Me. The simple
rendition drove me to tears.
Ever since that night I have wanted to create an arrangement for
that song, though the idea had drifted to the back of my mind. One day, early in 2000, I was browsing my hymnal
looking for the next hymn that we would put out on the Internet. It was then that I came across Jesus Loves
Me. Immediately I knew it would be
perfect for Vanessa, so I proceeded to put together an instrumental arrangement for her. Though it turned out to be extraordinary, it only
took a long night to complete. I
soon played it for Vanessa and she went crazy over it.
When we went to lay the vocals, I knew it would work for her,
and it did. In fact, she laid down her parts
in less than an hour. Soon I was at the
mixing console doing the final mix. After
that was completed, I sat back to listen to the DAT tape to make certain everything came
out all right. Indeed it did, and I found
that I had tears swelling out of my eyes soon enough.
I am certain this song will touch you with the simplicity of its
profound truth. Vanessas melodic
harmonies over a soft piano, light acoustic guitars, sonorous strings, full B3 and quiet
rhythm section will grab you in a way that only this song can.

My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine;
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, tis now.
I love Thee, because Thou has first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvarys tree;
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, tis now.
Ill love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath;
And say when the death-dew lies cold on my brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, tis now.
In mansions of glory and endless delight,
Ill ever adore Thee in heaven so bright;
Ill sing with the glittering crown on my brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, tis now.

Dave and Laurie join Vanessa to sing this favorite hymn with
awesome harmonies that bring it to life. William R. Featherstone wrote this song when he
was 16 years of age. The hymn tells us that
one day we will praise God in mansions of glory. It
was not long after he wrote this song that William came before the throne. He died in his
early 20s. Yet his words live on to
inspire the worship of Christians.
William Featherstone was only 16 when he wrote this song shortly
after his conversion in 1862. He died on his
27th birthday and this was the only hymn that he wrote.
Featherstone had sent the poem to his aunt in Los Angeles. She turned around and sent it to England where it
appeared in The London Hymnbook of 1864. It
was back in Boston Massachusetts that a Baptist minister, A. J .Gordon, while preparing a
hymnal for Baptist congregations, saw the song in the British hymnal. He didnt like the music that Featherstone
had written so he made his own music up in a moment of inspiration as a
beautiful new air sang itself to me. The
hymn was soon sung across America.
For years Vanessa has told me that she wanted this hymn played
at her funeral. Of course, with that
directive looming over my head I had to make an arrangement for it. Since the hymn was so personal to her, it was only
natural to ask her cousins to sing it with her. So,
we contacted Dave and Laurie to join Vanessa as we prepared the piece for a church
service.
The harmonies just took off right from the beginning. So, we decided to sing the last verse A Cappella. The results were inspiring! When we singing it in church the congregation
flipped over it.
Now, if I am around for Vanessas funeral, there will be no
way that I could perform this piece. I doubt
if Dave and Laurie could fare much better. So,
I made certain that we recorded this piece for posterity.
What we came up with will be played at Vanessas funeral some day. In the mean time we can all enjoy the powerful
message that it conveys and praise God that one day when we die we will live in mansions
of glory to glorify Him forever.
I for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemers
praise,
The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of His grace!
My gracious Master and my God, assist me to proclaim,
To spread thro all the earth a broad the honors of Thy
name.
Jesus! the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows
cease,
Tis music in the sinners ears, tis life, and
health, and peace.
He breaks the power of canceled sin, He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean; His blood availed form me.
He speaks, and listening to His voice, new life the dead
receive;
The mournful, broken hearts rejoice, the humble poor believe.
Hear Him, ye deaf, His praise, ye dumb, your loosened tongues
employ;
Ye blind, behold your Savior come; and leap, ye lame, for joy.

Charles Wesley wrote this famous hymn on the eleventh
anniversary of his conversion to Christ. This
light and lively instrumental arrangement by Don Wigton captures intricate piano and
acoustic guitar parts that intertwine with delicate melodic licks. Over this
base stings and flutes play the melody that has become a favorite of the ages. Wesley wrote the hymn to express the joy of his
salvation. This jubilant Wigtune instrumental
version is sure to lift your spirit.
Sometimes, as we become older in the Lord, we forget the joy
that is experienced by a new believer. We
overlook the great work that Christ did on the cross as He redeemed us from our sin. Yet the joy of our salvation is at the very
foundation of our thankful praise.
Charles Wesley, who along with his brother founded the Methodist
Church, never forgot the marvelous fact that God had saved him. Eleven years later he was so filled with praise to
God that he penned O For a Thousand Tongues in commemoration the fact that God
redeemed him from his sin.
The original title to the song was For the Anniversary of
Ones Conversion, because he wrote it on May 21, 1749 on the eleventh
anniversary of his own conversion. Charles
and his brother John were called Methodists because of the methods of
spirituality that they had introduced in their club at Oxford, the Holy Club. Later they met the Moravians, who influenced them
in regards to the need to experience a conversion to be saved. Hence they experienced personal conversion.
The Moravians were very missionary-minded and loved to sing. One of the Moravian leaders, Peter Bohler, once
said, Had I a thousand tongues, I would praise Christ Jesus with all of them. Hence, Charles Wesley built his hymn around that
phrase in celebration of the conversion that he experienced as a result of Bohlers
influence.
Charles had known from childhood that Jesus died on the cross to
pay the penalty for sin. On May 21, 1738 he
accepted and applied it personally. This is
what this hymn is all about.
The Wigtune arrangement of this songs comes from years of public
worship services where I had the wonderful opportunity to lead congregational members in
praise to God. Amazingly, it only took a few
hours to put the arrangement on tape. It just
seemed that one part lead to another as I composed as quickly as my fingers could play.
I attempted to capture the feeling of the times in which Wesley
lived. The result is an instrumental that is
reminiscent of the minuet when the ladies of Europe would curtsey before the dashing men
that whisked them off, dancing in the great aristocratic halls of old.
The brisk arrangement sets a very joyful mood to the exciting
message of salvation contained in the words. It
begins with a piano quickly joined by an acoustic guitar that sounds like a lute (a guitar
from centuries ago). After the introduction
strings and flutes graciously enter in on the melody.
Later in the piece a verse is gently played by the piano and guitar alone only to
build from there to the conclusion.
There is no sorrow in this song of victory. Salvation is something to rejoice in. We pray that this arrangement will encourage you
to experience the joy of your salvation.
