Don makes the piano move in this arrangement. The song will inspire you to
praise your Savior and Friend. It is based upon the dramatic scene before the throne where
ten thousands of angels along with every creature in heaven and earth gather to worship
Jesus who has redeemed the world from sin. (Rev 5) To Him who sits on the throne and to
the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!
When I wrote Worthy Is the Lamb I was looking for a moving piano intro to go with it. I
wanted this music to bring drama to the scene in heaven depicted in Revelation 5 where
Christ opens the seals. The book that is sealed is the deed to the world. Had no one been
found worthy to open the seals, this deed would have remained forever Satans. That is why
there is so much rejoicing in heaven when Christ is found worthy to take the book and to
break its seals. He died on the cross to redeem mankind to him and one day he will return
to the world to reclaim the world that rightfully belongs to Him. This piano piece
expresses the joy that fills heaven when this truth becomes a living reality.
Of all of the piano pieces that I have written, this is my personal favorite. Whenever I
sit down to the piano just to mess around you can be certain that I will play this piece.
I like the music, but the most important part of the piece is that it sets the stage for
the song that I composed which depicts one of the greatest moments of eternity - when
Jesus is praised in heaven for His marvelous work on the cross. The very essence of our
praise to God is based upon His substitutionary death. We will glorify Him forever for
that act. It is no wonder, therefore, that God commands us to worship Him with all of our
lives. Living worship is nothing more than an act of true gratitude.
The piece starts with the piano driving away at the main theme. The next time around it is
underscored by a melodic cello followed by acoustic guitars and additional strings. The
piece develops from there while new melodies are introduced as the tranquil piano
continues to soar. Finally, the piece concludes on the same theme upon which it began.
My Redeemer has consistently been well-received with the audiences that we have ministered
to. However, since I wrote it for the sake of my personal edification, the hope is that
the song will enhance your personal praise time with God. As the delicate themes built
upon the exaltation of God surround you, we trust that you will be blessed.
