Vanessas vocals over the moody piano in this song will move your spirit to bow before your
Lord. When we think of the magnificent work that Christ did for us on the cross we cannot
help but turn our hearts to worship him. Romans 12:1 admonishes us to present our bodies
as living sacrifices holy and acceptable to God. This emotional praise song calls on us
worship Jesus with all our lives because he loves us and died for us.
Song Story
I consider this to be one of the most biblically-profound praise songs that I have
written. This is because it ushers Christians into a lifestyle of worship. Worship is not
something that is restricted to a few moments in a church service. As Romans 12 assures
us, worship is something that we do with our whole being, which implies that it transcends
into every part of our lives.
I am convinced that believers who truly learn to worship God on a daily basis will be
those who will become the most effective Christians in our world today. . .for if worship
is restricted to the church service, then Christian behavior is reserved for that limited
experience only. But the believer who has learned to worship God in all his life will
recognize that God is everywhere and that we are always accountable to Him for our
behavior. Christian living, in this case, moves outside the church walls and into the
streets where it belongs.
It is this Living Worship that this song portrays. This is the power of the song.
I wrote this song with Vanessa in mind for the lead vocal. It lays right in her range and
style. It is no wonder, therefore, that it only took one take to record the lead vocal
that is filled with passion and emotion. Vanessa sings this moody and melodic praise song
convincingly in a manner that brings worshippers into a state of constant
Christ-centeredness.
There is nothing that pleases a song writer more than hearing it performed just right. It
is even more pleasing as a Christian to have your music minister to others. Therefore, I
pray that it will touch you.
